Mission Go!

An ANBU waited patiently outside the village gates for anyone who would aid him in his mission.

Faith shyly walked up to the ANBU standing at the gates of Konoha. She'd been told that he'd be waiting for her and any others taking part in the mission, and seeing as no-one else had the chakra strength of the ANBU, and this man seemed to be waiting for someone, Faith put two and two together in the hope of making four. Approaching the ANBU, she hoped that he'd been briefed on her... dificulties. It led to awkward complications when they started asking her questions and she couldn't answer.

"Oh you're here, good." The ANBU turned to Faith upon seeing her, uncrossing his crossed arms. He breathed heavily underneath his cat mask. "This is what we are going to do." The ANBU quickly briefed the situation to Faith. "I am going to take you to where we think the bandits are locating themselves, perhaps to the leader's building if we are stealthy enough to get in."
The ANBU breathed out loudly, as if he was sighing.
"Are you prepared?"

Faith listened to the instructions carefully, face looking in the ANBU's general direction to show she was paying attention. Her hands twisted together at the awkwardness of meeting a new person, and she felt as though a block had been placed across her throat, making it difficult to even think of speaking, but she had a couple of questions she really wanted to ask:
Was it just the two of them? Would no-one else be joining them on this mission? Do we have any information on the bandits?
.... Are they the ones who killed my parents?
Her selective mutism meant that she stayed quiet, and she wasn't even sure if she would have asked all the questions anyway, if she could. Instead she just nodded shyly to show that she was ready, and prepared for instructions from the ANBU.

"I should warn you though, the bandits do not utilize chakra or use jutsu but you should still be aware of the chakrenium they are trying to harness..."
The ANBU started to walk away, toward the east of Konoha, where there used to be lush green foliage and a lovely path filled with wildlife. Since the war, this was no more.

Altair walked up to the gate and saw 2 ninja, a Chunin and an ANBU, "Hey i came to join in on the mission, im sure you can use all the help you can get." Altair stated as he stopped next the the others.

"Of course we can." The ANBU called to the new arrival. "Follow me."

Faith had known someone was approaching them for a while now; the vibrations of his footsteps were so light she knew he must be a ninja, but he was coming from inside the village, and the air around him was only gently disturbed. That translated in her mind: A leaf ninja was walking towards them. He stopped next to them, and Faith shyly turned her face away; it disturbed people to notice that the blind girl was watching them. She didn't recognise him from his voice, but his chakra levels suggested he was a Jounin or ANBU. Silently, she followed after the ANBU, each step making vibrations across the earth and telling her of an obstacles across the ground.

Altair followed as well, he did not know the specifics of the mission but knew it had to be important being that a ANBU was assigned to the mission as well.

"We will infiltrate the bandit's hideouts." The ANBU quickly explained as they set off over the burnt land around Konoha. "Is there anyone that would like to take point and test their tracking skills?"

Faith turned on the spot, pointing off to the distance. Although her sightless eyes were pointed at the ground and she said nothing, it was clear that she was pointing in the direction she thought the mines where. It wasn't just a random guess. Although it was distant and faint, if she concentrated, she could feel the vibrations of the earth being battered consistantly from a single point. Once she found that point, she could also feel the chakras of two ninja who were heading in the same direction. Faith didn't know if they were friends or enemies but at least she knew the direction they needed to go in.

Altair left it to the chunin for now but was ready to step in if needed, "What are you pointing at? Altair asked.

"Hmm." The ANBU brought out his binoculars and pointed them in the direction Faith pointed, looking through them. There was some smoke rising in the distance.
"It looks like a mine..." The ANBU answered Altair.

Faith nodded in confirmation to the ANBU's translation of her pointing, and began to carefully pick her way across the cracked ground in the direction in which the ground vibrations were strongest.

the Chunin girl seemed to have very good senses, Altair followed behind her keeping an eye out for any enemy ninja as they moved closer to the mine.

"Toward the mountains then." The ANBU stated, walking ahead slightly across the uneven ground. "I hope you brought supplies..."
